Custom Cut & Bend
Bring a drawing, a sample, or a set of numbers, and we'll brake it to match.
Not every job fits a stock profile. If you need a one-off bracket, a custom reveal, or a flashing detail nobody stocks, this is that service: we cut and brake-form sheet metal to whatever profile you spec.
Most custom orders start one of three ways: a drawing with dimensions and bend angles, a physical sample we can measure and match, or a phone call where you describe the detail and we work out the profile together. From there it's cut on our shear and formed on the brake to the gauge and finish you need.
This is also where we handle the "we've never made this before" jobs: brackets, closures, transition pieces, anything that needs a specific bend rather than a length off a shelf.
The trades that end up on our custom line are a mix. Roofers and siding contractors bring us one-off transition pieces that don't match anything in a catalogue. HVAC and mechanical contractors need enclosure panels, curbs and duct transitions in a specific gauge. Sign companies and general contractors show up with a sketch for a bracket or reveal that has to fit an exact opening. What they all have in common is a detail that a stock supplier can't cut, which is the gap this service fills.
Everything runs through the same two machines: a shear that squares up and cuts sheet stock to width, and a brake that puts the bends in. Between those two tools and a shop that's used to reading a rough sketch, we can turn a phone description into a finished part without needing a formal engineered drawing, though we're just as comfortable working from one if your project has architectural or engineering specs to follow.
Working from a drawing goes faster when it includes a few specific things: overall dimensions, each bend angle, which direction the bends fold, and the finish or colour you need. If you're not sure how to spec a bend angle, send us a photo of the space it needs to fit or an existing piece if there is one, and we'll work out the profile with you over the phone before anything gets cut.
Small-batch and one-off runs are the normal case here, not the exception. A lot of metal suppliers are set up for volume orders and aren't interested in cutting a single bracket or a run of five pieces, but that's exactly the kind of job our shop handles every week. If you need one part today and might need fifty more of the same part next year, we keep a record of what we cut so a repeat order is as simple as a phone call referencing your original job.
Flat Pattern (Girth) Estimator
Add each leg of your profile in order to estimate the flat width of material needed before it's bent. Rough estimate for budgeting, we'll confirm exact flat pattern with your quote.
Estimate
7.95"
estimated flat width per piece
Rough estimate (sum of legs, less a small bend allowance). Tight-tolerance jobs are confirmed by hand when we quote your drawing.

Questions
Custom Cut & Bend FAQ
I don't have a drawing, can you still quote it? +
Yes. Bring in a sample of the piece you need matched, or describe the dimensions and bends over the phone, and we'll sketch it out with you before cutting anything.
Is there a minimum order? +
No set minimum. We run everything from a single bracket to full pallets. The per-piece price just reflects the quantity.
What's the longest piece you can bend? +
Call the shop with your length and profile and we'll confirm. Most standard flashing and trim profiles are well within our brake capacity.
Can you match a specific paint colour? +
For anything on our Signature or Classic colour lines, yes, exactly. For a custom colour match, bring a sample and we'll see what's achievable.
How fast can a custom order turn around? +
Simple profiles are often ready within days. More involved jobs depend on gauge, quantity and finish. We'll give you a firm date with your quote.
Do you work from architect or engineer drawings? +
Yes, we regularly quote off formal spec drawings as well as rough sketches. Send whatever you have and we'll confirm the details before cutting.
Can you match a profile that's been discontinued? +
In most cases, yes. Bring in a physical sample of the old piece and we can measure it and reproduce the profile on our brake, even if the original supplier no longer makes it.
What if my project needs both custom pieces and stock flashing? +
That's common. We'll quote the custom pieces alongside your stock brick, stucco, roof or cap flashing order so everything ships together and matches in finish.
Can you form parts in materials other than steel or aluminum? +
Steel and aluminum cover the large majority of what comes through the shop. If your job calls for something else, call and we'll let you know whether it's something our equipment can handle.
